What you'll be doing

• Load and run proven CNC programs on mills and/or lathes without supervision
• Program basic parts
• Set work offsets, tool offsets, and workholding
• Perform in-process inspection
• Troubleshoot routine setup and machining issues
• Work in either the lathe or mill department, cross-trained between the two

Machines, controls and software

Lathes include Mazak (2/3/4-axis), DN Solutions dual-spindle, and Okuma (mill-turn capable); mills are all Mazak. Controls are Fanuc and Mazatrol. The shop programs primarily in Fusion 360 and Mastercam — experience with either is a plus.

What we're looking for
Required

• Able to load and run proven CNC programs without supervision
• Able to program basic parts
• Comfortable setting work and tool offsets
• Able to read blueprints
• U.S. residency (the shop performs work under a Navy contract requiring citizenship compliance)

Preferred

• Lathe-focused experience (turning is the shop's top priority), though strong mill candidates are also considered
• Experience with Fanuc or Mazatrol controls
• Familiarity with Fusion 360 or Mastercam

Pay, benefits and schedule

Pay ranges from $28.00 to $35.00 per hour based on experience. This is a full-time, first-shift position with flexible start times.
